About the Course

The Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (DHMCT) is a three-year professional diploma programme approved by AICTE, designed to prepare students for careers in hotels, resorts, catering establishments, cruise lines, airlines, and hospitality service sectors.

The programme provides comprehensive training in food production, food and beverage service, front office operations, housekeeping management, and hospitality administration. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, enabling students to develop both technical skills and managerial understanding required in modern hospitality operations.

About the Curriculum

The DHMCT curriculum is structured to provide progressive learning from basic operational skills to advanced hospitality management concepts.

Core Areas of Study:

  • Food Production & Culinary Arts Fundamentals of cooking, Indian and international cuisines, bakery and confectionery, kitchen management, and food safety practices.
  • Food & Beverage Service Restaurant operations, service techniques, beverage studies, bar operations, and guest service management.
  • Front Office Operations Reservation systems, reception procedures, guest relations, communication skills, and hotel software applications.
  • Housekeeping Operations Accommodation management, hygiene standards, laundry operations, and facility maintenance.
  • Hospitality Management Subjects Hotel accounting, marketing, human resource management, hospitality law, and entrepreneurship.
  • Industrial Training & Internship Mandatory industrial exposure in reputed hotels to gain real-time operational experience.
  • Personality Development & Grooming Communication skills, professional etiquette, leadership development, and teamwork.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from a recognized board.
  • Students from any stream (Arts / Science / Commerce) are eligible.
  • Basic communication skills in English are preferred.
  • Admission is subject to institute and AICTE norms.
