Rules & Regulations

IICTHM maintains a structured and disciplined academic environment that reflects the professional standards of the hospitality industry. All students are expected to strictly adhere to the institute’s rules and regulations to ensure academic excellence, safety, and ethical conduct.

Academic Rules

  • Students must attend all theory and practical sessions as per the academic schedule.
  • Participation in practical training, industrial visits, internships, and assessments is mandatory.
  • Students are expected to follow instructions issued by faculty and academic authorities.
  • Academic dishonesty, including malpractice in examinations or assignments, is strictly prohibited.
  • Continuous assessment, internal exams, and practical evaluations form part of the academic progression.

Dress Code & Grooming Standards

Professional appearance is mandatory and reflects hospitality industry norms.

  • Students must wear the prescribed uniform for theory and practical sessions.
  • Proper grooming is compulsory:
  • Neatly styled hair
  • Clean-shaven appearance for men (except where religious customs apply)
  • Minimal accessories; no visible tattoos
  • Formal attire (blazers, formal shirts, trousers, polished shoes) must be worn during designated activities, training, and events.
  • ID cards must be worn at all times within the campus.

Attendance Policy

  • Students are expected to maintain maximum attendance, with regular attendance being compulsory for both theory and practical classes.
  • Attendance is mandatory for internships, industrial training, seminars, and institute activities.
  • Leave of absence must be obtained with prior permission from the concerned authority.
  • Medical or emergency leave may be considered only with valid documentation.
  • Students failing to meet attendance requirements may be barred from examinations or training as per institute norms.

Code of Conduct

All students must uphold the values of discipline, respect, and professionalism.

  • Maintain courteous behavior with faculty, staff, and fellow students.
  • Use of English during institute hours is encouraged to improve professional communication.
  • Respect institute property and maintain cleanliness across campus.
  • Follow safety instructions and institutional guidelines at all times.
  • Any form of misbehavior, harassment, or indiscipline will invite strict action.

Prohibited Items

The following are strictly prohibited within the campus and hostel premises:

  • Smoking, alcohol, tobacco, or narcotic substances
  • Weapons or sharp objects not related to academic training
  • Gambling materials or unauthorized electronic devices
  • Any item that disrupts discipline or campus safety
Violation of this policy will result in immediate disciplinary action.

Disciplinary Actions

IICTHM follows a zero-tolerance policy toward indiscipline.

Depending on the severity of the offense, disciplinary actions may include:

  • Verbal or written warning
  • Fine or suspension from classes/practicals
  • Cancellation of internship or training
  • Suspension or expulsion from the institute
  • Forfeiture of fees, if applicable
All disciplinary decisions taken by the institute authorities shall be final.

Mobile Phone Policy

  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in classrooms, laboratories, kitchens, restaurants, and academic training areas.
  • Phones may be used only in permitted areas during non-academic hours.
  • Unauthorized use of mobile phones during academic sessions will lead to confiscation and disciplinary action.
This policy is enforced to maintain concentration, discipline, and a professional learning environment.
